Fresh pasta, wonderful service. I get the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, it's the best I've eaten in USA. Yummy.

My wife and I made a "spur of the moment" stop at Ravalia's last night around 8pm. We had a great experience. I ordered the caesar salad, which was fair. Good lettuce, average dressing and croutons. For the entree, I had the chicken fiorentina. It was SPECTACULAR. The chicken was juicy, moist and cooked to perfection. The white wine sauce which accompanied the chicken and side of rigatoni was full of flavor. My wife had the mediterranean salad. It was HUGE. She said it was very fresh and full of flavor. She easily had enough to take home for lunch the next day (get your dressing on the side to begin!). I can't wait to go back and try the pizza. The owner (I assume its the owner) went around to all the tables and talked to customers. It was a nice touch ...

Just had a father day late lunch there today after church and we were very happy with the service and the food! Jimmy from NY was our server...he was friendly and attentive. Very Nice guy and great personality. As was the other server who we chatted with in the back.....the calamari was fresh, tender and delicious as was the sauce. My spaghetti vongole was cooked to perfection and my wife's carbonara was wonderful. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs and my mother had their Rigatoni and vegetables. Dessert was terrific we had Turimisu the cheesecake. ...a delicious Cannoli and lemon ice in a real lemon....the owners cooked today and they haven't lost their touch! We just moved here from Tampa area and are native to NY...happy to have found our new favorite Italian restaurant here in Lake Mary....also good to know some Professional Orlando City players dine here too!! Go City! Grazie...Ravalias!

Great little hole in the wall italian place. The business travelers review was dead in. Great authentic italian. I had the seafood Gnocchi & girl had shrimp diavlo. Both were very good. Desserts were fair. Service good. Great vibe.

Great experience!! Anytime you walk into a new Italian restaurant and see four guys...two heavy set cooks, and two owners sitting around speaking Italian...you know you are in the right spot! Authentic sauce and flavors, and everything cooked to order. Lastly, by far the best cannoli' around! Take it from this Italian, if your looking for good, authentic Italian, it doesn't get much better then this.

So, I've eaten here a few times for lunch; mostly because it's "supposed to be" quick and near the office. I have very mixed feelings about this place. It serves it's purpose: Italian food that tastes pretty good. The service has been inconsistent and sometimes "weird", though. I've mainly had the lasagna and I think I had a personal pizza once (it was fine, but did not cause me to make this my "pizza place"). On my last visit, the waitress brought out 4 tiny bread pieces that resembled crackers on this tiny plate & told us that this was our bread. I've been there before & had never rec'd the "cracker bread". It was also cold and flavorless. I asked for lemonade and she brought out a water that looked like a lemon was squeezed into it. I took that back. My friend was kind-of done with her food & the waitress came to our table (after being absent for 10 mins) & abruptly took her plate. It was extremely odd. When she came back, she attempted to take my plate & I gave her "a look", so she refilled my water instead (it had been empty for 10 mins). It was just weird overall. That was my friend's 1st time there & she made it clear that she will never return. I'll only go back if I have no other options due to time.

I came here today for my birthday dinner with my family. Everything was good - the service was pretty good, the food was better than average, and our server specifically was friendly and attentive but things took an absurd turn when we were ordering dessert. We ordered tiramisu: Server: what would you like for dessert? My sisters, in unison: tiramisu. Server looks at me: the limoncello cake is really good. Me: we don't really like lemon, we will stick with the tiramisu. Server: there are lemons on the table, you must like lemon. Me: we didn't eat the lemons. Server: the lemon cake is really good, I want you to try it. Me: we're going to do just the tiramisu. Server: I'm going to bring it for you to try. *server swiftly leaves* We didn't like the lemon cake, and we finished the tiramisu. The server charged us for the cake that we said several times we didn't want. Of course, we left most of that lemon cake on the table. Our tab was $70+ and we are good tippers, but what that server did was super-offensive and disrespectful. You're going to ruin the experience of people who are paying almost a hundred dollars for a $6 cake?! It was definitely not in a good spirit either, he was manipulative and pushy going about it. Obviously, this is not about the $6. It's about the shameful lack of respect for your customers. It's so pathetic that they are so desperate for money that they would ruin their customers' cherished family experiences. Needless to say, if you value being respected and treated with dignity, you should avoid this place.

Wow, im from Savannah, GA and stopped in here by accident. Since Germany this is the only authentic place i have found. Everythi g was great!

A little slice of heaven. The calamari was fresh and tender. The house salad was impressive, but the entrees were to die for. The pasta is dense and light-if that is even possible. The veal stuffed tortellini is life changing

Best Italian place I have ever been and my favorite restaurant in tue area. I come here every time I travel to FL. Everything on the menu is great and the people who own and serve are so friendly and fun. With the reasonable price and atmosphere, this is a place you need to go. Doug is an excellent server and worth the price of admission.

Management is hype right-abusive to its staff, it was uncomfortable to witness as a customer. Food was terrible as well, we will never go back here. To whoever Al R. Is, I'm assuming a manager (I can't reply publicly for some reason), if you look at my name photo or history you would know I never worked for you. This also seems like a strange way to respond to a legitimate customer review. 1 star still stands.

When I think "Strip Mall" the idea of outstanding Italian cuisine did not typically come to mind until I wandered into Ravalia's with my family on a rainy weekday. This place is part of a nondescript little cluster of stores including a jeweler and a sewing center here in Lake Mary, not exactly the place you'd expect to find a solid meal. We all ordered various items and each one was on-point; I enjoyed a sausage plate, my mother had a lamb special and my father tried the chicken parm. All of the helpings were incredibly generous and, even though we are all able to hold our own, we all brought a to-go boc home. The quality of the food at Ravalia's can't be understated and if you are looking for authentic and outstanding Italian in the area do not skip this spot!

Addicted to the gnocchi which is made in front of you from scratch if you sit at the bar. Owners are always there greeting customers and making sure you are happy from start to finish. Could not recommend an Italian meal more; the fact the prices are so reasonable and the decor is to die for only makes this restaurant a more fabulous find.

Our new favorite restaurant. Great food. Everything is homemade. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. So far we've had spaghetti and meatballs, pizza, lasagna, ravioli, fettucine Alfredo and soups. Everything has been fresh and good. Bread is amazing, too wish we would've found this place earlier.

Soooo delicious. Went here for for lunch and had a Stromboli. The service was a little slow, but the waiters and waitresses were very sweet. The sauce is everything in these dishes and it was packed with flavor. The owner is so welcoming when you walk in. You get treated like family. The food is made fresh to order. I will definitely be back.

Business travelers go here!! The reviews are spot on. I was warmly met at the door and the place obviously was full with regulars. The owner from the photos posted was so nice. Had the lobster ravioli special of the day that was amazing. True Italian restaurant with the staff speaking fluently. I will be back to this establishment every time I come to this area. Such a wonderful experience leaving an extra generous tip.

Holy smokes! This place is great. Wonder why I didn't try this before. The calamari appetizer was awesome - tender and fried lightly. The Marinara sauce was like the kind mom used to make. The veal parmigana was cooked wonderfully. My wife had the Fettuccine alla Norcina and my veal came with just the right amount of pasta on the side. The cool part is, all the pasta is made fresh! And you can tell. And our server Mario was the real Italian deal. Great service. It's highly likely we'll be back again and again.

Let me preface this by saying that it looked like we were the only customers having such a completely terrible experience. The place was busy, and people were shaking the owner's hand as they left and thanking him for the great food/evening. That's just NOT the time we had. We arrived and were seated right away at a table outside. The owner (very friendly) brought out silverware and a tablecloth. So far, so good. But then we sat for about ten minutes without being greeted or addressed at all. No hello, no drinks... heck, we didn't even have menus. We finally flagged down a server and she snarled (Seriously, snarled is really the word for it. And we were friendly, assuming the owner hadn't told her he'd seated us or a similar error.) that she'd help us in a minute. When she returned she asked for our drink orders. Two Cokes, one beer... though she wasn't overly familiar with their beer choices. She brought out a bottle of beer and two CANS of Coke. No glasses. (We later noticed that while all customers who ordered soda got cans, they also all got glasses with ice to pour them in. We were given no such courtesy.) After rushing through the specials the waitress very impatiently took our order (and actually tapped her foot when we asked for a minute to look over the menu). She confused my one friend with rushed answers to his questions so much he didn't wind up remembering what he'd ordered, and frustrated my other friend by being obviously upset that she was only ordering a salad and a side item. I ordered the chicken parmesan and asked whether it came with any sides. "No." "No spaghetti or salad or anything?" "No. But you can add a salad for $3.50." I asked for a side of fettuccine Alfredo, and she at first said they couldn't do sides of pasta. I said that was okay, I didn't want any side in that case. She went to the kitchen and returned saying they COULD do the side. Okay, great. She said she'd bring bread, turned on her heel, and disappeared. About 15 minutes went by and she hadn't brought any bread (or come by to check whether we needed drink refills). After noticing that other tables nearby who'd arrived after us had bread, my friend flagged down our server and asked if we could have some. She sneered. "Yeah. Sure. I'll bring it." And disappeared. We never did get any. The owner came out a few minutes later to tell us our food would be ready soon. About ten minutes later it arrived. Given the reviews we'd seen on Yelp and other sites we had hoped that even with the terrible service the food would be good. No such luck. Caesar salad was fine... fresh enough lettuce, bottled dressing, supermarket croutons. The Fettuccine Paglio e Fieno was al dente with mostly peas and a so-so sauce... not as flavorful as we would have liked, but reasonably passable. The fettuccine Alfredo tasted like a Rice-a-Roni ready-made pasta side dish in a box. Freaking Olive Garden has more flavorful Alfredo sauce, and that's just sad. The bowls we got had obviously been sitting around waiting for our other food to be done, because the pasta was clumped together and almost impossible to get on a fork. The chicken parmesan came with a huge side of rigatoni in marinara sauce, which I was specifically told it didn't have (and obviously didn't want in addition to the fettuccine Alfredo side). The marinara sauce was good and there was a decent amount of mozzarella cheese but the chicken was so tough and stringy that it was hard to cut, much less chew! We were really not even done eating when the waitress unceremoniously dropped our checks and THREW a to-go box at my friend. After she'd come back with our credit card receipts the owner stopped by to ask how our evening had been. My friend apologized but said that we hadn't had a great time and explained that the service had been very poor. The owner said "Well, sometimes that happens... I'll give you a free drink next time. How was the food?" When we said the chicken was tough, he got extremely defensive and told us it couldn't possibly have been because it was a very popular menu item. Are you kidding me?! We were obviously miserable at this point, but like I said at the front of my review it really did look like the experience we were having was atypical from the rest of the customers so we'd said we might return to see if it's better next time. When the owner began to tell us we were crazy though, that was that. I will not be back; I can't imagine spending even another dime on such an awful evening. I hope other customers have better luck than we did.

My new favorite place. Food is comparable to local NYC eateries. Homemade spaghetti, rigatoni, fettuccine. Morreti on tap. Service outstanding - James is the best!!!! Al and staff welcomes you with open arms upon arrival. It's just like Mama's kitchen.

I was really hoping for a great Italian restaurant when I saw this place opened up. My husband and I went here on a Thursday night for dinner. We were greeted and was sat right away. We got our menus and some bread came out. Bread was good, it was a pizza like bread with seasoning on it. I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, I figured it would be the only item on the menu that an Italian restaurant could not mess up. Well, it was flavorless and had no taste what so ever. I doused it with tons of salt and pepper, I was really disappointed that it was so bland. My husband had the Rigatoni Norma and he also said it was flavorless. We were so excited about the fresh pasta as you can see them making it from behind the counter. As we sat there eating, we could hear the waitresses talk and how upset they were with things. I think there is some drama with the staff at this place and hopefully they can get it figured out. Customers don't need to hear the problems... We hope to try it again and see if we get a different experience.

My post was reported by management to Yelp for seeming to be "hear say". I will re-write this one in a lot more unadulterated fashion, so it is clearer. I heard the chef of Ravalia's say (WITH MY OWN EARS) "what a waste of a white girl" when he saw an interracial (a spanish appearing guy with a caucasian lady) couple walk past the front of the restaurant. One of the owner's who was closer to him than I was, did not say anything. As a customer this was extremely awkward and made my dining experience very much uncomfortable. I would NEVER come back to support a restaurant like this. The food was very much sub-par and uninspiring.

Don't let the location of this Italian bistro let you drive by without visiting. My brother lives in Lake Mary, and this is his very favorite restaurant, so he took the family when we were all visiting for our nieces graduation. Upon entering the strip mall location I wasn't sure what to expect, but our warm greeting from the owner quickly let me know we were in for a real treat. We started with an appetizer of fresh calamari which was delicious. I I ordered the Shrimp alla ravalia, which was prepared with garlic, olive oil, artichokes and cherry tomatoes. I asked if I could have it served on veggies instead of pasta and they served it atop grilled eggplant, which was amazingly delicious. The shrimp were huge and so very fresh and I had at least 8 shrimp...I lost count! My dad ordered the veal Marsala which was by far the best preparation I have ever tasted. It was served over homemade pasta, which was heavenly. The house bread and olive oil kept flowing as it disappeared each time they put a basket down. Others in our party ordered the chicken special, chicken piccata and the Mediterranean salad (which is huge). I didn't taste everything, but I would gladly order any of the entrees served at our table as they looked amazing and everyone enjoyed their entrees till the plates were scraped clean. We also had 5 star service to make the meal that much more special. Our server was new to the restaurant, but took great care of us and was excellent about finding answers to any of the questions we had about the menu. The wine list was delightful and had a great selection of Italian wines by the glass to complement the authentic food. I can't wait to return to Lake Mary to dine at this Italian eatery again. For once I agree with my brother!

This maybe the best Italian food in Central Florida! When we went it was a packed weekend night, and we were lucky it was a nice night to sit outside. The owner was super nice made sure we had what we needed. I ordered the pork Osso Buco that was the special, and my wife ordered the chicken tetrazzini and a glass of wine for each. The owner came out and gave us each a salad, since the food was taking a bit. Let me say it was well worth the wait. The Osso Buco fell off the bone and the sauce was amazing. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfect. My wife's I am said hers was good, but I couldn't stop eating the pork. After the meal was done 2 waiters mentioned how good the lemon cake was so we split a piece. It was light with a cream filling and raspberry sauce, amazing! The prices are good, huge portions and great quality!

We ran into a lot of people we knew at this place, funny how none of them had told us about it!. I was searching for a new restaurant and checked Yelp for some ideas and came across this gem. Service was very good, so was the wine. Bread on the table was just like we like it, homemade, with a little olive oil and parm. cheese on it. eggplant parm., was superb as was the mushroom and chicken dish, can't remember the name of it. Prices were very reasonable as well

Wondering what to have for lunch in Lake Mary is actually hard if you can't make a quick decision, because there are plenty of options available in a very close proximity. Among those is Ravalia's, a small Italian restaurant located in a strip mall next to TooJay's. A quick glance over the menu outside and I decided I was going to get the Insalata Prosciutto and Mozzarella. Once seated, however, the waitress said two words you don't often hear from any Italian restaurants nowadays. "Homemade pasta' were the words that changed my mind. When I skeptically questioned the waitress, she insisted that the pasta was made fresh and pointed to the machine where it's made. After hearing that, I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese under the 'lunch express' menu and forgot all about that salad. Luckily, the dish came with a choice of a house or caesar salad, so I opted for the caesar. As I have mentioned in previous posts, it takes a lot for a salad as simple as a caesar to "wow" me, but this one did in its simplicity. It doesn't look special by any means, but the amount of dressing it was tossed with was probably as close to perfect as you can get. Romaine is a sweet lettuce and there was just enough dressing for the saltiness to combine with the lettuce that made it a salad I enjoyed eating. When the pasta came, it was so hot, steam was still coming off it, a good sign that it hadn't been sitting out for too long. The first bite confirmed it was definitely made in house and it was cooked al dente. The bolognese sauce was a little on the watery side but flavored well. When my waitress remembered to bring out the garlic knots, they were the perfect thing to help soak up all the unused sauce. Could things be improved? Of course. The lights hung so low over the 2-person table that I bumped my head when standing up, and the distance between tables is pretty small due to the lack of space inside. Overall though, with tax and tip totaling $10, you really can't go wrong with the quality of food you get for the price.

Amazing! The best Italian I ever had. Had the special. The pasta was fresh, the seasoning perfect, the seafood tender. I would highly recommend. If I lived here I'd be here every night.

Last night came to have dinner and had the most fabulous meal. The menu has changed for the better since I was there last. I had the fettuccine with pancetta mushroom walnut cognac cream sauce and one word to describe it..divine!!!! Paired with a glass of chianti it was mouthwatering. I hadn't been there for sometime and I will def be going there more often. Great and very attentive service too!

This place is as good as it gets! The food is excellent in every regard. Great portions and authentic. Ravalia's rivals some of the best Italian restaurants anywhere. When I make the trip to Orlando/Lake Mary - I always stop here for dinner. Between the service, excellent food, and relaxed atmosphere - it's a winning combination that will make other italian restaurants in the area cringe. Local gem!

Real Authentic Italian food has finally made it to Florida! Being born and raised in a Italian family from New Jersey I know what great Italian food tastes like and this is it! The pasta is made FRESH. The sauces taste unbelievable. The owners are from Italy and they have successfully taken authentic Italian food from Italy and have brought it here to Florida. The pasta is literally made from scratch on premises along with the sauces. The flavor bursts in your mouth. Stop reading this and get to Ravalia's NOW! I will definately be returning.

Once again I go into Ravalia's for dinner about two weeks ago and the food is terrific, the service is excellent but this owner whose name is Al is constantly yelling at the staff. This guy is completely off of his mind. I noticed other tables commenting amongst themselves. My wife and two kids couldn't believe their eyes. He wears shirts that are too small and he continues to wear these tight jeans that are ridiculous. Again the food and service are great but this is the third time in 7/8 visits that the owner has lost on his staff in front off customers. Lighten up Al the wars over.

I had the veal parm. I thought this was the best experience I had at an Italian restaurant in a very long time. The service was great. The employees were friendly. The bread is great and the veal parm was crispy with plenty of sauce and cheese on top. The rigatoni was terrific too.

Just got back from revalia restaurant in lake Mary located by too jays. The sauce was amazing. My wife try to duplicate there sauce but she can't. The white sauce over the pasta is unique and there us nothing like it. The P izza is thin crusted and is the best pizza in Florida. This place has to be the only restaurant that the owners go out of there way to really make u feel right at home! YOU GO REVALIA SETTING THE BAR AS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO GO ON LAKE MARY!

So glad this place is here! I've been missing great quick casual italian food. Emphasis on GREAT. The gravy (red sauce) is tasty - not overly salted or seasoned. If you are one of the previous reviewers complaining about bland food - I'd rather it be under seasoned then over seasoned. Besides, high sodium is no good for you ;) always great service, they are bursting at the seams in this small location but that is part of the charm... i typically order the ravioli but ask to have it with gravy and not the way it is on the menu - every time the chef has no problem with this and I am a happy patron. keep up the wonderful food & service!

Great family neighborhood Italian joint. All the pasta is made in house which is extremely rare to find. Very friendly service. Casual atmosphere and value pricing for quality food. Alicia M. should stick to Olive Garden and lean cuisines.

After the closing of Café Positano and Piada Piada (was sad to see that one go), we were excited about the arrival of Ravalia's, and being a NJ native, I am always on the hunt for authentic Italian cuisine. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by the owner/manager(?) with a friendly 'hello' and seated promptly. The room itself is small and narrow and the noise level was pretty high, which is understandable with such a small room. The restaurant gives the impression of being slightly upscale, but the paper napkins and hard uncomfortable chairs leave much to be desired. We brought our 4 year old daughter with us and she was unable to kneel for more than 15 mins on her chair (they do not have booster seats)..so I had to put her in my lap so she could eat her dinner. They also have a long narrow bar that you can sit at if there are no tables available, but the bar top is very narrow and there is no leg room underneath. It did not look comfortable at all. The wine menu was pretty extensive for a small restaurant and the house chianti was good, although they did not have any happy hour specials. My husband and I had a caesar salad and we both shared a margherita pizza, while our daughter had the kid's fettuccine alfredo. We were impressed by the size of the salads (which were tasty) and our daughter's pasta dish, but the pizza was a little on the bland side. Service was prompt and courteous, and overall our experience was ok. Some improvements I would suggest would be: cloth napkins, comfortable chairs, lower lighting, drink and appetizer specials, Italian music in the background.

Wow, What a crappy experience. This was the second time I ate at Ravalia's and hopefully the last. The waitress was undertrained but sweet. She brought the appetizer without appetizer plates. We had to request them. She then brought the entree before we were finished with the appetizer, even though there were only about 3 tables. One of the biggest sins was the under seasoned food though. Bleh. The carbonara was flavorless. It was a pretty miserable experience; however, it escalated into the stuff of kooky reality TV when the manager walked up to our table and began berating my 12 year old son for using his IPad during dinner. Guess what? That was none of his effing business. Ravalia's is not a fine dining establishment by any means (pretentious... yes. Fine dining no.) and I did not think it inappropriate for my son to use the device or I would not have allowed it. Ravalia's is housed in a strip mall for God's sake. If I was okay with it, so be it. The manager humiliated my son and spoiled my appetite with his crappy, demeaning patriarchal approach. "BLAH BLAH respect your Mother. BLAH BLAH I do not allow this at the table" We left without finishing our meals....and we won't return.

Went for lunch , great service. Chicken Carbonara rocks. Nice and creamy with plenty of pancetta. My friend had the eggplant and raved about it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
